Abstract

In October 2016, sentiments of Polish households have improved after two quarters of deterioration. The IRG SGH Household Condition Indicator (IRGKGD) increased by 3 pp. (in the previous two quarters, there was deterioration by approx. 2 pp.). The largest contribution to the improvement of the IRGKGD index was from the improvement in the assessments of future unemployment, which is probably due to the very good results in this respect in the economy. The unemployment rate (EU methodology) fell below 6%, the lowest in over 20 years. Improvement was also noted in the assessment of the economy as a whole and the capacity to save. The assessment of households financial situation deteriorated. The observed trends in the results of the study are in different areas varied. (original abstract)
