Abstract

In the 3rd quarter of 2017 business situation in the trade sector deteriorated again. The IRG SGH trade confidence indicator (IRGTRD) quarterly decreased by 6.3 pts to -3.0 pts. It is now 5.1 pts down from the respective 2016 figure, and lower than the third-quarters' average over the last ten years, which amounts to -0,4 pts. The balance of changes in overall standing of trading enterprises declined, compared to the previous quarter, and their financial standing diminished. However, the traders' assessment of their overall business situation is good (the balance is +16.9 pts), but they expect it to deteriorate over the next 6 months.(original abstract)
