Abstract

In the 1st quarter of 2018 business situation in the trade sector improved. The IRG SGH trade confidence indicator (IRGTRD) quarterly increased by 7.5 pts to 5.4 pts. It is now 7.1 pts down from the respective 2017 figure, and 2.3 pts up from the first-quarters' average over the last ten years, which amounts to 3.1 pts. The majority of the balances declined, including the balances of changes in overall standing of trading enterprises and of their financial situation. However, the traders expect trading activity to increase in the next quarter.(original abstract)
