Abstract

Business situation in the trade sector improved in the 1 st quarter of 2022. The IRG SGH trade confidence indicator (IRGTRD) quarterly increased by 6.0 pts to 0.3 pts. It is, however, 4.3 pts lower from the respective year 2021 figure, and below the first-quarters' average over the last ten years (which amounts to 4.0 pts). Nevertheless, financial situation of traders decreased. They decreased also domestic and foreign purchases, but declared employment rate increased. They also expect their trading activity to decrease over the next two quarters.(original abstract)
