Abstract

Business situation in the trade sector decreased in the 2 nd quarter of 2022. The IRG SGH trade confidence indicator (IRGTRD) quarterly declined by 5.2 pts to -4.9 pts. It is 10.9 pts lower from the respective year 2021 figure, and below the first-quarters' average over the last ten years (which amounts to -1.3 pts). Nevertheless, general and financial situation of traders improved. They increased domestic and foreign purchases, as well as employment. Firms expect their trading activity to increase within the next two quarters.(original abstract)
