Studia Demograficzne (Demographic Studies) is a peer-reviewed journal of the Committee on Demographic Studies, Polish Academy of Sciences, founded in 1963. The journal has been published by the Collegium of Economic Analysis of the SGH Warsaw School of Economics since 2019.

The Polish Academy of Sciences has been a publisher of Studia Demograficzne till 2018 (http://journals.pan.pl/sd). The Committee on Demographic Studies, Polish Academy of Sciences, is continuing its merit contribution to the journal.

The journal provides space for scientific debate on a wide range of population issues and operates as a sharing platform for research results with a broad audience. Its aim is to support networking of population science researchers in the Central and Eastern Europe and to contribute to a more advanced scientific communication and exchange within the demographic community.

Studia Demograficzne publishes high quality papers on a wide range of demographic issues. Being interdisciplinary in scope, the journal welcomes up-to-date contributions from all areas of social sciences and life sciences, including economics, sociology, psychology, geography, health, political science, population-related policy, and social policy. Papers addressing population topics from mathematical and statistical perspectives are also of high interest.

The journal welcomes empirical as well as theoretical papers. They may provide both cross-national comparative and country-specific studies that demonstrate important population issues. Other related materials, such as brief research reports, books and literature reviews, as well as information on important scientific events, are also welcome. Studia Demograficzne places a particular emphasis on contributions which focus on the Central and Eastern European countries.

Studia Demograficzne is an open-access journal published twice a year, both in paper and online. The journal is indexed in: Copernicus, CEJSH IC Journal Master List, BazEkon, PBN, Bibliografia Geografii Polskiej. The journal adheres to the core practices of the Committee on Publication Ethics

Submissions, either in English or Polish, undergo a double-blind peer review process by two independent reviewers. More details are provided in the “Submission” section.
