Abstract

In October of 2015. sentiments of Polish households have improved. The IRG SGH Household Condition Indicator (IRGKGD) increased by 2.1 pp. (after falling in the third quarter of 2015 by 2.8 pp., and the improvement in the second quarter by about 10 pp.). Almost all the components improved, except the fears of unemployment. The greatest contribution to the IRGKGD improvement was due to the assessment of future ability to save and improve of the assessments of the economic situation in the country in coming 12-months. In recent quarters the dynamics of household consumption stabilized at the level of approx. 3.1% y/y. The development of the value of the IRGKGD index, adjusted from short-term fluctuations shows a clear upward trend, which should have a positive impact on consumption growth. These are the prerequisites for accelerating growth in consumption. (fragment of text)
