Abstract

In the 3rd quarter of 2017 the sentiments of Polish households deteriorated. The IRG SGH consumer confidence indicator (IRGKGD) decreased by 2.7 pts. The decline of the indicator was primarily effected by lower households' expectations of their financial situation, and, to a lesser degree, of general economic situation in the country in the next 12 months. Nevertheless, the smoothed indicator is still on the rise, and it's worth mentioning that the decrease in consumer sentiments followed the sharp upward shift reported in the last quarter. The indicator continues to signal solid growth in private consumption.(original abstract)
