Abstract

Business situation in the trade sector significantly improved in the 2
nd quarter of 2023. The IRG SGH
trade confidence indicator (IRGTRD) quarterly increased by 12.4 pts to 8.8 pts. It is 13.7 pts greater
than the respective year 2022 figure, and it remains over the second-quarters’ average within the last ten
years (which amounts to -0.3 pts). General and financial situation of traders improved. They increased
domestic purchases and employment, but slightly decreased foreign purchases. Firms expect their
trading activity to improve within the next two quarters. (summary)
