Abstract

In November, 2021 manufacturing activity slightly decreased. The industrial confidence indicator (ICI) dropped by 0.3 pts to -3.2 pts. It is higher than one year ago by 10 pts. The decline was mainly faced by producers of input goods, small manufacturers and firms operating in the North-West macroregion and the Mazowieckie Voivodship. Production, incl. export production, and total orders fell. Financial situation of producers worsened, together with their opinions on general economic situation in the country. Average costs of production increased, which made selling prices grew. The only positive sign of the November survey is a rise in export orders and the competitiveness of export production. Manufacturers' confidence is low, and they expect their business activity to slow down in the coming months.(original abstract)
