Abstract

In the 2ndquarter of 2020situation in the Polish agriculture continued to deteriorate. The agricultural confidence indicator (IRGAGR) droppedby 11.6pts. The decline was larger than recorded in two previous quarters. The smoothed money income indicator, one of the two components of IRGAGR, decreased by 5.7pts, and the confidence indicator,the second component of IRGAGR,fellby as many as 23.3pts. Therefore,the deterioration is-to a great extent -a result of the lack of farmers' confidence, most probably effected by the lockdown of the economy that followed the out break of the COVID-19 pandemic.In consequence, the magnitude of the slowdown in the agriculture sector hit record high. Farmers expect as light better mentover the next quarter.(original abstract)
