Economic System Policy in the Light of Polish Experience

Abstract

Social market economy is the constitutional foundation of economic system in Poland. It is based upon: freedom of economic activity, private ownership and solidarity, dialogue and co-operation of social partners. The concept of social market economy in Poland has ordoliberal roots. Therefore, its weighty element should be the primacy of economic system policy aimed at creating competitive economic order. Under such circumstances the process policy would be of supportive role. Ethical aspect should be also a major element of social market economy in Poland. Hence it is necessary to protect human rights as well as work dignity since a man is developing through work that serves the well-being of society. (original abstract)
