Business Cycle Fluctuations and Activity of Households in the Insurance Services Market

Abstract
In the article an attempt is taken to assess relationship between cyclical changes in the Polish economy and activity of households in the insurance services market. The following measures of households' activity are used in the analysis: volume of insurance services, a number of insurance companies of which services households make a use and an amount of actual and planned spending on insurance services, inter alia. The study uses data from surveys conducted by Department of Marketing Research of the Poznan University of Economics among households and insurance companies' managers. We present results of correlation analysis and segmentation of households on the basis of their behaviour during downward and upward phases of business cycles. (original abstract)
