Introduction
Crisis situations such as pandemics, floods, earthquakes, and especially armed conflicts have a negative impact on tourism.
They reduce the sense of security, which is reflected in the suppression of demand not only for trips to regions affected by crisis situations, but also to neighboring regions.
Observation of the tourism market shows that, out of fear for their own safety, tourists usually do not want to stay near places affected by crisis situations, especially near ongoing armed conflicts. Crisis situations, especially armed conflicts, have a negative impact on tourism. They reduce demand and profits of enterprises, increase costs, inhibit planned investments, and cause stressful living and working conditions. It should be remembered that tourism is the main generator of foreign exchange and has a positive impact on the trade balance of the receiving country.
