Abstract

In the 1st quarter of 2015 business situation of Polish farming homesteads greatly deteriorated. The composite indicator decreased by nearly 10 pts, from +4.4 pts to -14 pts., the lowest figure in the last four years. The decline of the indicator was the result of declining farmers' revenues. The smoothed money income indicator fell by 14.6 pts (from -5.7 pts to -20.3 pts). Though the revenues slumped, the farmers' confidence was modest. The confidence indicator increased, however slightly, by 0.2 pt (from -1.8 pt to -1.6 pt), not enough to hamper the weakening tendencies in the Polish agriculture noticed in the recent quarters.
