Abstract

In the 4th quarter 2014 the index of the business condition in the banking sector declined from +29.6 pp. to -28.6 pp. The sudden and considerable decline has been mostly caused by over 80 point decline in indicators of both the result on banking activity and the level of profit. Additionally, the third component of the indicator - employment, also contributed to the slump. Banks have been reducing employment in the 4th quarter of 2014 at an even higher pace than in the preceding quarters
