Abstract
In the 4th quarter of 2015 sentiments of Polish households improved. The IRG SGH consumer confidence indicator (IRGKGD) increased by 2.1 pts (following the fall in the 3rd quarter by 2.8 pts, and the increase in the 2nd quarter by about 10 pts). All components of the indicator grew, except for the fears of unemployment. The rise in IRGKGD was mainly due to increases of the balances of the assessment of future ability to save and economic situation in the country in the coming 12 months. In recent quarters the dynamics of household consumption stabilized at the level of approx. 3.1% y/y. The seasonally adjusted and smoothed index is now in an upward trend, which should have a positive impact on consumption growth. (fragment of text)
