Abstract

In the 3rd quarter of 2017 economic situation of Polish farms improved once again. The improvement, which has been ongoing for the last few quarters, was a result of favorable weather and aggravating conjucture on global markets. The IRG SGH agricultural confidence indicator (IRGAGR) increased by 7.9 pts, from -0.6 pts to +7.3 pts. The increase was mainly due to a rise in farmers' money income - the smoothed money income indicator, one of the components of IRGAGR, grew by 11.2 pts, from -6.1 pts to +5.1 pts, contributing 95% to the growth of IRGAGR. The residual was effected by an increase in farmers' sentiments - the confidence indicator, the second component of IRGAGR, grew by 1.1 pts, and equals 10.5 pts now.
