Abstract

In the 2nd quarter of 2018 situation in the Polish agriculture slightly improved. The agricultural confidence indicator (IRGAGR) increased by 1.4 pts to -1.7 pts. The increase was caused by a rise in the smoothed money income indicator, one of the components of IRGAGR, by 3.4 pts to -7.0 pts. The confidence indicator, the second component of IRGAGR which represents farmers' sentiments, declined by 2.5 pts to +9.0 pts. The composite indicator and its components are respectively 1.1, 0.9 and 1.4 pts down from the respective last year figures. The annual changes of the three indicators are also lower than one year earlier. The improvement of agricultural situation is definitely of seasonal (short-term) nature. The mid-term declining tendency (showed by the cyclical component line) is getting reinforced.(original abstract)
