Abstract

In the 1st quarter of 2019, the construction confidence indicator (CCI) amounts to -3.2 pts. It is now by 1.2 pts lower than one quarter earlier, and 6.0 pts down from the respective year 2018 figure. The tendency of the indicator has been declining for over a year. All the main balances (production, total and export orders, employment, financial situation, and capacity utilization) decreased on the quarterly and annual bases. Construction firms are slightly optimistic. The coming spring should bring about seasonal recovery in the industry.(original abstract)
