Abstract

In the 3rd quarter of 2019 the construction confidence indicator (IRGCON) declined by 11 pts to 11.4 pts, and is now by 12.6 pts lower than in the third quarter of 2018. Despite the fact that a summer is the most favorable season for the industry, deterioration in terms of production, employment, capacity utilization, investment, orders, firms' financial situation and their assessment of the situation in the branch and in the economy was recorded. Particularly worrying are the survey results for complete construction of buildings. On the other hand, state enterprises performed the best in all respects.(original abstract)
