Abstract

In the fourth quarter of 2019 the construction confidence indicator (CCI)is negative and equal to -11.3 pts, which is 9.3 pts down from the respective year 2018 figure. The larger annual declines were recorded only in 2012, i.e. in the year of the sovereign debt crisis in the euro area (decrease by 15.9 pts) and in 2009, during the Great Recession (35.8 points). The mid-term declining tendency in the construction industry, that has been developing for the last two years, is getting stronger. (original abstract)
