Abstract

In the 4th quarter of 2020 situation in the banking sector deteriorated. The IRG SGH banking confidence indicator (IRGBAN) declined by 33.5 pts to -40.9 pts. It is now 34.5 pts down from the respective year 2020 figure. The decrease was due to a drop in the banks' profits, the result on banking operations and employment. The surveyed banks expect the state of the sector to improve in the 1st quarter of 2021, and the leading indicator equals to -23.3 pts.(original abstract)
