The division of paid and unpaid work between women and men: Theory, status, and prospects

Abstract

The main problem for this article is the division of paid and unpaid work between women and men, along with prospects for changes in this matter, which may result in an increase in workload for women. The first part discusses definitions. Then I present the current data on the division of work by gender in Poland, which I treat as an example for the case study of the division of work between the genders. The last part focuses on the projected changes in the work environment. In the article, I use the statistical data on Polish time budgets collected by Statistics Poland and other reports, including those of the International Labour Organization (ILO). (fragment of text)
