Abstract

High housing prices and high prices of raw materials are the key determinants of the current economic situation in the construction industry. In the 3 rd quarter the construction confidence indicator (CCI) increased by 7.6 pts to 7.1 points, and is 25.4 pts up from the respective figure of year 2020. In the third quarters of 2017-2019 the mean of CCI was equal to 17.2 pts, so the current situation in the industry sustains low levels as compared to the pre-pandemic period. Construction firms expect their orders and production to increase in the 4 th quarter, however, their assessment of economic situation both in the country and in the industry is gloomy.(original abstract)
