Abstract

In the 3rd quarter of 2019 the IRG SGH banking confidence indicator (IRGBAN) increased from 11.9 pts to 12.2 pts. The increase was mainly caused by a rise in the balance of profits. According to the surveyed banks, however, they are to face more restrictive regulations and growing tax burden. These factors are expected to diminish future banks' profits. The banks expect the situation in the sector to deteriorate in the upcoming months.(original abstract)
