Abstract

In the 3 rd quarter of 2021 the economic expansion in Poland continued (though supply disturbance on many markets, primarily manufacturing and construction, decreased the growth rate). This made the overall situation in the Polish banking sector improved. The IRG SGH banking confidence indicator (IRGBAN) increased by 22.6 pts to 33.3 pts, which is 40.7 pts up from the respective figure of year 2020. The increase of IRGBAN was due to a rise in the banks' net profit. The surveyed banks expect their economic activity in the 4th quarter to decline; the indicator is forecasted to fall to 0.0 pts.(original abstract)
