Abstract

As expected in the last quarter, the financial confidence indicator (IRGFIN) increased in the 3rd quarter of 2023 (compared to the previous quarter) by 26.9 pts to 2.1 pts. It is now 7.6 pts up from the respective year 20222 figure. The indicator is expected to decline in the 4th quarter of 2023 (to -29.2 pts). Of the four components of IRGFIN, the confidence indicator of financial intermediaries (KP) took the lowest value, -66.7 pts, and the insurance confidence indicator (KU) – the highest one, 25 pts.
The surveyed institutions reported an increase in their profits despite worsening business conditions.
The majority of the survey respondents expect the zloty to appreciate in the 4th quarter of 2023, and most of them predict the central bank interest rates and money supply will remain unchanged till the end of the year. The inflation rate (CPI) is expected to continue falling over the next months.
