Abstract

In November, 2023, manufacturing activity increased third time in a row. The industrial confidence indicator (ICI) grew by 1.1 pts to -3.9 pts. It is now 8.7 pts up from the respective last year figure. The improvement strengthened the upward tendency that has been steadily developing in the manufacturing industry for several recent months. Production, domestic orders and employment monthly increased. Producer prices declined. Firms’ opinions on general economic situation in Poland bettered. Improvement on the annual basis is even stronger. The balance of production rose by as many as 22.6 pts, and the most striking change is an upsurge in producers’ optimism about future prospects of the Polish economy, and a slump in average costs of production and selling prices, primarily of consumer non-durables.
