Abstract

In the 3rd quarter of 2018 the IRG SGH banking confidence indicator (IRGBAN) grew to 45.3 pts. It is now 31.4 pts up from the previous quarter figure, and by 29.6 pts higher than expected. The quarterly rise of the indicator was caused by an increase in the balances of: the result on banking activity, profits and employment. The surveyed banks expect situation in the banking sector to worsen in the 4th quarter of 2018, and IRGBAN is forecasted to fall to 18.1 pts.(original abstract)
