In May 2015 the industrial confidence indicator (ICI) monthly dropped by 2.4 points. It amounted to -0.6 pt., and was 1.8 pt. down from the May 2014 figure. The indicator calculated for private firms decreased by 2.2 pts to -0.9 pt., and was lower than a year earlier by 2.1 pts. The indicator for public firms declined in comparison with the April figure by 5.7 pts to +0.6 pt. It was however higher than one year earlier by 0.6 pt. The results of the May survey show the seasonal recovery face serious obstacles. The main survey balances fell on the monthly - except for the balances of employment and general economic situation in Poland - and annual bases. Expectations for the coming months remain pessimistic. Positive seasonal factors should strengthen over the next months, however, it is hard to say whether their impact will be strong enough to improve business activity. (fragment of text)

In April 2015 we noted business situation in the manufacturing industry improved but of public enterprises only. All the confidence indicators remained positive, however, they did not increase. The industrial confidence indicator monthly declined by 1.4 pt. It amounted to +1.8 pt., and was 3 pts down from the April 2014 figure. The indicator calculated for private firms decreased by 1.8 pt. It equalled to +1.3 pt, and was lower than a year earlier by 4.9 pts. The indicator for public firms monthly grew by 3.2 pts to +6.3 pts. It was higher than in April 2014 by 19.2 pts. Although seasonal factors favoured business activity, its increase was weak. The survey balances were higher than one month earlier, but the monthly differences were smaller. Many of the balances were down from the respective last year figures. The highest monthly changes of the balances were recorded for production and financial situation. Expectations for the coming months are very pessimistic, as for this time of the year. Political tension in Ukraine persisted. Nevertheless, one should expect business situation to improve the over the next months. (fragment of text)

In March 2015 the industrial confidence indicator (ICI) increased by 5.8 pts. It amounted to +3,2 pts and was 1.9 pts up from the March 2014 figure. The indicator calculated for private firms monthly grew by 5.5 pts to +3.1 pts, the level by 1,1 pts lower than a year earlier. ICI calculated for public firms grew by 9.5 pts and amounted also to +3.1 pts, 11 pts up from the respective last year figure. Business situation improved in manufacture of investment and intermediate goods and consumer nondurables, in all employing levels, and in the majority of the regions, the most in the Zachodniopomorskie Voivodeship.
