Abstract
Potrzeba poznania, mniej formalnie określana potrzebą zrozumienia, radością myślenia, dążeniem do poznania i zrozumienia rzeczywistości; to cecha osobowości charakteryzująca osoby znajdujące radość w myśleniu „chcące wiedzieć”. Osoby z wysokim poziomem potrzeby poznania łatwo angażują się w wymagające intelektualnie zadania, są zaciekawione otaczającym je światem, unikają uproszczeń i powierzchowności. Z wielu powodów rozwinięta potrzeba poznania jest pożądaną cechą u pracowników, menedżerów i studentów. W tym artykule zadano pytanie o źródło potrzeby poznania, a bardziej precyzyjnie o to, czy kształcenie uniwersyteckie przyczynia się do rozwijania potrzeby poznania. Wyniki przeprowadzonych badań sugerują, że odpowiedź na zadane pytanie jest twierdząca: kształcenie wspiera potrzebę poznania studentów uniwersytetów.
