AIMS AND SCOPE

The Education of Economists and Managers is a peer-reviewed journal which publishes original research papers. The objective of the journal is to provide insights into problems of management and professional development through the publication of high-quality research from around the world. The scientific profile of the journal is interdisciplinary. Management issues are presented from a wide perspective of many disciplines – management science, psychology, sociology and philosophy. Its purpose is to share experiences, thoughts and inspiration, and to present the latest scientific achievements in the field of the thematic profile. 

It is intended for employees, university students as well as managers and HR professionals working in the area of business practice.

PEER REVIEW PROCESS

  • All articles published by the Education of Economists and Managers are subject to a review procedure.
  • All reviews are double-blinded (i.e. the identity of the reviewer is not disclosed to the author and vice versa). Positive reviews of two independent reviewers are the prerequisite to publication of the text.
  • The Editorial Board performs a preliminary review after the reception of the article. If an article is accepted by the Editorial Board, it is later sent to two independent reviewers. Reviewers are appointed from among those being outside the scientific unit publishing the quarterly. The list of independent reviewers is available on the website.
  • Double-blind review process is obligatory. A review is made in writing, filling in a suitable form including the criteria of subject-of-the-matter and formal assessment.
  • A reviewer presents the justification of the article assessment as well as suggestion of changes of both subject-of-the-matter and editorial nature.
  • A reviewer presents the final recommendation – a decision concerning not qualifying the article, the necessity for the article to be reviewed again (following necessary changes to the article) or accepting the article to be printing.
  • After the reception of the reviews, the Editorial Board will inform the author whether the article has been accepted for publication or rejected. Subsequently, the author must include the suggested improvements and submit the article to the Editorial Board.
  • The final decision whether to publish the article, request improvements, or reject the article is made by the Editor-in-Chief.
  • In the event that the author does not agree with the comments given by the reviewers or the Editorial Board, the author has a right to withdraw their article; whereas the Editorial Board has a right to reject the article or send the article to a third reviewer.

  • The journal is published quarterly.

OPEN ACCESS POLICY  

  • This is an open access journal which means that all content is freely available without charge to the user or his/her institution.
  • Users are allowed to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of the articles in this journal without asking prior permission from the publisher or the author.

 PUBLICATION ETHICS  

  • The journal adheres to the Core Practices of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE, https://publicationethics.org/core-practices) and follow their guidelines in respect of publication ethics and managing problems when they arise.
  • In case of a discovered misconduct on the author's part, such as plagiarism, falsifying data or double publication, the journal Editorial Team will call for explanation and then undertake appropriate steps. This may eventually include notification of authorities at the author's institution, withdrawal of the article in question and exclusion of any further submissions by the same author from being processed by the journal.
  • The Editorial Board of the Education of Economists and Managers journal is aware of and adheres to current publication guidelines in matters related to copyright, plagiarism and ethical code violations as well as relevant scientific standards. All the manuscripts submitted to the joural are being checked by anti-plagiarism system. Articles considered by reviewers to be plagiarized are excluded from publication.
  • The studies may not infringe the copyrights of third parties - within the meaning of the Act of 4 February 1994 on copyright and related rights (original text: Journal of Laws of 1994 No. 24 item 83, consolidated text: Journal of Laws 2016 item pos. 666).
  • Articles are published free of charge. 

AUTHORSHIP

  • In order to prevent the phenomena of ‘ghostwriting’, ‘guest authorship’ and to ensure scientific diligence the Author shall be obliged to review their own and co-authors’ contribution in to publication (providing their affiliation and involvement, i.e. information on who is the authors of the concept, assumptions, methods, etc. used while preparing the publication) with the major responsibility being borne by the Author submitting the article for publication. Any detected cases of lack of due diligence and dishonesty will be revealed, followed by informing appropriate entities.
  • Any changes in authorship require written consent of all authors sent individually via direct email to the Editor-in-Chief. Each of them must issue a statement on the acceptance of the proposed changes in the authorship of submitted manuscripts or published articles. The corresponding author takes responsibility for providing clear reason for the change(s) and should coordinate interaction between the authors and the Editor-in-Chief.

CONFLICT OF INTERESTS  

  • A conflict of interest exists when an author (or the author’s institution), reviewer, or editor has financial or personal relationships that inappropriately influence his or her actions. Financial relationships, such as employment, consultancies, honoraria, paid expert opinions are the most easily identifiable conflicts of interest and ones most likely to undermine the credibility of the journal, the authors, and science itself. Conflicts may occur for other reasons, such as personal relationships, academic competition, and political and intellectual passion.
  • If any conflict of interest exists, it is obligatory that each author and reviewer declare it.

 CORRECTIONS, RETRACTIONS, AND COMMENTING   

  • Minor corrections (clarifications) will be possible through comments posted by the editors to the online version of the article. Major corrections will be published via correction article, fully indexed and linked to the original paper. Major corrections cover errors that significantly affect the understanding of the original article.
