Abstract

In the 4 th quarter of 2021 the overall situation in the Polish banking sector has further improved. The IRG SGH banking confidence indicator (IRGBAN) increased by 16.7 pts to 50 pts. It is now 90.9 pts up from the respective year 2020 figure. The increase was due to a rise in net banking income, profits before tax and employment. Banks expect their economic activity to decline in the 1st quarter of 2022 (the expected value of IRGBAN is 20 pts).(original abstract)
