Automatic analysis of the text of the reports of public benefit organizations as a tool for assessing projectization in the Polish third sector

This article shows how an automated content analysis of substantive reports of public benefit organizations (PBOs) can be used to assess the phenomenon of projectization in the Polish third sector. Projectization, understood as the transformation of organizational activities into project structures, is increasingly common in NGOs, mainly due to the requirements of funding from grants and funds. The study is based on a corpus of 120 2023 NGO reports, analyzed using natural language processing (NLP) tools such as attendance analysis, specialized term extraction and thematic modeling. The results indicate the presence of numerous terms and phrases typical of project management, confirming the ongoing projectization of the sector. At the same time, the reports retain a strong social component, reflecting the organization's mission statement.
