The impact of quality management on the effectiveness of grand challenge project implementation – theoretical considerations

Abstract

The aim of this article is to present the results of a literature review concerning the impact of quality management on the effectiveness of implementing grand challenge projects. Although references to the effectiveness of grand challenge projects can be found in the literature, these issues are typically discussed in general terms, without a direct connection to quality management. No sources were identified that directly examine the impact of quality management on the effectiveness of such projects. The literature contains only mentions of general aspects of effectiveness, but lacks analyses that specifically address the role of quality in achieving intended outcomes. The fact that the topic of quality management in such projects is virtually absent from the literature results in a lack of research on its influence on project effectiveness. Based on the findings of the literature review, research questions were formulated, which became the starting point for conducting empirical studies. However, a detailed description of the results of these empirical studies is not included in this article.
