Abstract

Young people are gaining in importance as consumers in tourist industry. Authors of the paper focused on characteristics and analysis of the specificity of generation Y consumers aged under 30. We discuss results of a questionnaire-based study conducted amongst students. Hypotheses that we validated concerned the importance of the Internet in trip planning as well as in sharing travel experiences. Another important aspect revealed in the findings is a relatively big importance of travel comfort. However, these studies should be continued especially if we want to compare selected behaviours across different age groups.
