Abstract

The knowledge of various strategic options possessed by managers and their choices affect strategic actions performed by organisations. It is crucial given the evidence that most managerial decisions are made without a complete analysis of all decision variables. In this context, recent years have seen a growing number of research studies in behavioural economics, creating a research stream on the concept of behavioural strategy, combining cognitive and social aspects with the theory and practice of strategic management. Recent research findings on behavioural strategy reveal the existence of two types of behavioural strategy components which affect strategic decisions made by organisations. The aim of this paper is to identify and discuss the internal and external components of behavioural strategy that are important for developing the organisational strategy of market entities. This theoretical and conceptual paper presents considerations based on a narrative literature review.
